2025 wurde zum Internationalen Jahr der Genossenschaften erklärt.

Unter dem Motto „Cooperatives Build a Better World“, also „Genossenschaften schaffen eine bessere Welt“, will man die nachhaltige globale Wirkung von Genossenschaften sichtbar machen.

Die Idee: Betroffene Menschen erhalten ein unbefristetes Mietverhältnis. In weiterer Folge können sie, selbstbestimmt, durch Sozialhilfe unterstützt werden, sich um andere Problemlagen im Leben zu kümmern.
