Originally published on RNZ, this article by Charlotte Jones reports on the early stages of two initiatives aimng at building eco-villages in New Zealand, following the lead of existing projects and committing to full environmental sustainability, as well as meaningful community life. One of the projects explicitly aims at being off-grid from existing facilities infrastructures, whereas the other one is in its exploratory phase, gauging the community's mood and perception of the proposal.
