Anita Fritz writes about the Compost Cooperative in Greenfield, Massachusetts. The cooperative is a workers-owned initiative aimed at the meaningful re-entry of former inmates in society by doing socially useful work and upholding cooperative and anti-racist business practices. On the horizon is also the idea to buy a multi-family house for the Compost Cooperatives' workers-owners, to counter the housing struggles many formerly incarcerated people experience once they are released.
